This is just a curiosity I had today. I know that in Korean words are usually derived from one etymological source. In other words, Hanja roots usually combine together to make Hanja-based words and pure Korean roots combine together to form pure-Korean-based words. Of course there are some exceptions of Hanja-Korean hybrids like “진짜 [眞-]” and English-Korean hybrids like “종이컵[--cup]” and even Hanja-English hybrids like “은메달[銀medal]”. However, my question is can anyone think of a word that has all three, Korean, Hanja, and English, all together in one word?
Actually, as I was typing this I thought of one: 팀장님 [team長-]. Having answered my own question, I was going to cancel this post, but thought I’d post it anyway to see if any else could think of one. Any ideas?
