오늘 읽기 수업은 우리 새댁 요코짱의 한국살이발췌문을 읽었어요. 그 발췌문 서강 한국어 3B page 83. 그책은 친구한테 빌렸는데 지금은 첵중에서 몇쪽이 알줄 몰랐어요.

여러분 아직 안읽었으면 사러 문고 가세요. 이책은 쉽고 재미 있고 읽어 볼만해요.

    이게 무슨 말인지 잘 모르겠어요.

    I don’t know what page it is from. i.e the excerpt in the textbook, I don’t know what page it is on in the real book.

    Do you feel that your experience as a language teacher and acquaintance with language teaching methodology helps you as a second language learner?  Just curious.....

    태민,
    I edited your comment to remove my real name - nothing else changed. Curious how you know it, do I know you? Hmmm.. anyhow not important.

    Yes I do think it helps me, but it might also be holding me back. It helps me, because I have strong theoretical knowledge of what works in language acquisition, so I try to follow those principles as a learner. At the same time it holds me back in the classroom because I will sometimes resist activities that I do not like or feel are not helpful to learning even though there is some small benefit for doing almost anything. I’m more interested in maximizing the usefulness of my time.

    Another thing that happens is sometimes I’ll actively be doing or supporting an activity when other students don’t get it or don’t want to get it. That’s the teacher in me recognizing immediately how the activity is supposed to work or the educational benefits of it.

    Overall, I feel that it is beneficial to me as I can apply my learning time to things that will gain me the most benefit.

    여러분 아직 안 읽어봤으면 서점에 가서 사보세요. 이 책은 쉽고 재미있고 읽어 볼만해요.

    I’d like to introduce a serialized (=연재한) book I’ve found it in the
    조선일보.

    It’s called 퀴즈쇼 by 김영하. Don’t know if it’s a good novel, but it’s easy to read and you can find the chapters on the internet.
    So it comes 공짜로!  wink

    “강의행동이래.”
    “뭔 행동?”
    “강의행동. 오직 인간만이 누군가가 혼자 떠드는 걸 오래 참고 들어준다는 거야.”
    “아하.”
    그녀의 말이 맞는 것 같았다. 과연 어떤 동물이 인간처럼 얌전히 앉아 남의 말을 경청한단 말인가.

    콧마루에 살짝 주름이 잡혔다 - the ridge of (her) nose got slightly wrinkled
    오직 - only
    떠들다 - to gabble
    얌전히 - quietly, obediently
    경청하다 - to listen
