After considering my recent lack of motivation and a desire to do something in Korean I have decided to plunge right into reading. No more childrens books. I’m just going to read adult fiction.
I was at Kyobo Bookstore today and was looking around the fiction section and was debating between two books, both written by Japanese authors. The first was Fly Daddy Fly but I chose 기묘한 이야기 because it was short stories and I could understand more when I read the first two pages then from Fly Daddy Fly.

Speaking of books, is there an online Amazon equivalent that I can order from (for cheap) in Korea? I was disturbed to discover that there is no Amazon Korea, and down here in Geoje-do we aren’t exactly overflowing with English resources. I’m in the market for a textbook, among other things.
Alex try What the Book. It’s run by a foreigner and offers free shipping on orders over a certain amount within Korea. And if you come up to Seoul for a visit you can actually go to the shop in itaewon and trade in your old books. Hope you find what you are looking for.

It’s been a month. How’s that reading going? Just curious.
It’s coming slowly. I’m really only reading the book on the subway and several times I’ve had to re-read the same page or passage which slows me down more than my already slow Korean reading speed. Currently on page 112 of 173.
