  1. Yep - I’m in.  It sounds like a good idea, but browsing their site a bit, it looks small for now.  Maybe we can help pick it up?  I don’t live in Seoul, so weekdays are hard, but it could be cool on the weekend.
By the way, Blinger...I still can’t reach this site at all while I’m at work (which is when I have quite a bit of free time online these days)… Any clue what’s wrong?  I’m guessing maybe firewall issues…

    Philip,

I’m aware of the problems with viewing in IE but I cannot figure it out at all. Some people can view it and others cannot. Some people like you can see it at work, but not at home and vice versa.

If you can I suggest installing firefox at work. I’m a little swamped with finals etc right now, but will try to get it resolved this week(end).

  3. Hi guys,

I’m the temporary organiser for the Seoul Korean Language Meet Up (it’d gone without an organiser for awhile).

It’d be great if you guys showed up at any of the meet ups - we definitely need more participants! I’d created a poll to see when people were available and there’s been a number of people wanting to meet up on the weekend as opposed to a weekday, which is why I’ve created so many events. There’s something on Saturday if you guys are interested, and please let me know if you have any suggestions.

  4. Welcome to the site Kittenita~
I’ll see if I can come on Saturday - I live about 1 hour south of Gangnam, so it’s a bit of a trek.  It was fun when the weather was nice and I could ride my motorcycle up there, but these days it’s becoming more and more like hard work.
I’ve become a bit wary of foreigner groups in Korea as most of them end up to simply be a reason to get drunk, insult Korean people, and get in fights (why are foreigners in Korea so violent?).  This group sounds like it has good potential though~!!  ^^ Hope to see you on Saturday.

  5. Oh, and 왕음치,
지금 학교에이다 - Firefox 다운 했어~
IE 안돼, 하지만 Firefox 괜찮아~ ^^

It’s a bit tedious because I have to download plugins all the time that I have already in IE, but I’m always happy to become less Microsoft dependant.  I’m not a fan of the company, but their stuff is just so darn user-friendly…

    Philip,
I understand, but firefox uses less memory than IE and you only need to add the plug-ins you use rather than having tons of crap you don’t need. Additionally firefox is tabbed browsing, which is far superior to opening a new window to see multiple sites at a time. The best extension to get is Tabbed Browser Extensions which really adds some good functionality.cheese

I just spent about 90 minutes trying to fix the IE bug but cannot find it. Anyhow if you really need to see the site in IE every page except the index works so you could always bookmark the archive pages.... a crappy solution but it works. hmmm

  7. I still don’t understand why IE works fine at home, but not at work…

Oh, and in Firefox, is there any way to get rid of that stupid-looking “windows icon” beside all my open webpages on the Start toolbar.

Any idea how I can get a copy of Publisher (in English preferably)...maybe 용산?

  9. I’m giving up the Meetup group for Singapore. They are converting to fee paying, so I’m migrating my group to http://club.tour2korea.com/singapore hosted by the official Korean toursim site. You can start your own group there too.

  10. The problem is that many of the features displayed in the page were made thinking in IE. but Firefox is the best browser in the market.
