Today was the seventh day of class this semester. So far I’ve missed one day because I had to teach a class that I couldn’t reschedule. Overall I’m very satisfied with the classes this semester. Just like last semester the teachers are very well prepared and give good explanations. In particular I like the Speaking teacher since she introduced a couple of rules that I use with my own students and then asked the class whether they thought a good teacher did most of the talking or the students did most of the talking. Of course the teacher needs to talk, but the majority of the speaking should be done by students.
My listening teaching is very energetic and the class goes by very quickly with her at the helm. She likes to tell jokes and is always smiling. Her name is 나경희 and told us to call here 히히히 선생님, which seems rather appropriate.
In writing class today we started writing a letter to a friend or a teacher that tomorrow we will take to the computer lab and actually send. I decided to write to my Speaking teacher since my wife only has a business email address that shouldn’t be clogged up with personal mail. In my draft I mentioned this blog and thus I need to get some action on here since the writing teacher will be reading it and correcting it and presumably visiting here sometime today or tomorrow.
I’m a little short on time today, but hope to get some inspiration and compose something in Korean a little later.
